Junior Versus is located on the Lachine Canal in Montreal Quebec. We sit just southwest of downtown (right between the Atwater Market and Terrasse St-Ambroise). At the heart of our small workshop rests a 2 tonne Wadkin Rs10 lathe. This iron workhorse was originally used in the old Canadian steel foundry, before being purchased by our friends the Doaks. The only other stationary tools we use are a Delta Band saw, and a Drill press. Everything else is done with hand tools.
Our building has a long history of making things and was originally used to produce Crane plumbing fixtures. Now it houses a full roster of eclectic makers, dreamers and machine enthusiasts. You never know what you will find happening here on a daily basis, and we find that very inspiring and invigorating. Crissy has a photo studio and a design office space spread over the two floors in the dust free section of our studio. At the moment we share the building with a Blacksmith, a metal design studio, multiple wood workers, a brewery, a pasta maker, a neon sign maker, a commercial sign maker, and a couple screen printers. Our studio is very much a reflection of us, and is always changing and evolving to suit our new interests and pursuits. Here is a little peak into where we work and create.
