Washing

Hand wash your wooden products in warm soapy water as needed. The trick is to wash them immediately after use, and towel dry them afterwards.  Never put wooden items in a dishwasher.

If you find the wood grain has risen, giving the product a rough surface, simply use the wet/dry sandpaper included in your purchase to lightly sand away this texture (often the coarse side of your kitchen scrubby will be enough to remove this texture as well). This is normal for new wooden objects. As they develop a patina from use this will no longer occur.

Wood Wax

For new wooden products it is important to hydrate them after washing. For this reason we have developed an all natural wood wax. Our wax is produced with a food safe hemp oil and candelilla wax. Wood wax is a great way to revitalize any wooden kitchen product, and is easy to apply. Simply use a paper towel or other lint free cloth, and rub a small amount of the wax onto the wood surface in a circular motion. The friction will cause the wax and oil to penetrate into the wood. You will find as your product builds up oil and wax, you will not need to wax it as frequently.

Furniture

Depending on the product purchased there are different finishes we use. Anything finished with oil can be revitalized with our wood wax. However, if you have a product finished in an oil/water based varnish, then no maintenance is needed except for the odd dusting :)

Enjoy

The most important thing is that you enjoy your new product. Wood has wonderful characteristics and it pairs very well with cooking and home products. Your wooden items will age with you and develop a patina with use, so use them!
